Lt. Byrd returned from the sea with a harpoon, a scrimmage carving of a whale, and three teeth from a giant squid he claimed to have fought off a hundred meters down.
His family was never sure whether he was just telling tales, but on moonlit nights he often sat by himself with his harpoon, muttering and staring out the window at the sea.
(So I've started a project in which I will attempt to write one piece of short or flash fiction a week, inspired by pieces of AI art I've generated.)
